About the Opportunity

A leading technology consultancy is seeking an experienced DataStage Upgrade SME to support a specialist platform installation and upgrade engagement.

This hands-on role will focus on assessing an existing DataStage 11.7.1 environment, defining the target architecture and installing IBM Information Server 11.7.1.6 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6. The consultant will also support environment configuration, asset migration, regression testing and go-live preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate the existing DataStage 11.7.1 environment and define the target architecture.
  • Install a production instance of Information Server 11.7.1.6 on RHEL 9.6.
  • Apply patches to the latest supported level.
  • Configure the new environment to align with the existing setup.
  • Assist with migrating jobs, configurations, metadata and scripts.
  • Support regression testing and resolve technical issues.
  • Assist with go-live preparation, validation and deployment activities.
  • Where required, implement capabilities such as Operations Console and Information Governance Catalog.
  • Configure DataStage operational metadata lineage.
Required Skills and Experience

  • At least five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with DataStage 11.7 installation and configuration.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Proven experience with DataStage migration and testing.
  • Ability to investigate complex environments and resolve installation, configuration and migration issues.
  • Experience supporting production upgrade and go-live activities.
Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Information Server 11.7.1.6.
  • Knowledge of Operations Console and Information Governance Catalog.
  • Experience configuring operational metadata lineage.
  • Previous involvement in DataStage upgrades on RHEL 9 environments.
Security Requirements

Applicants must hold a minimum Australian Government Baseline security clearance. Candidates holding an NV1 clearance will be highly regarded.
