FRS Recruitment are currently working with a highly successful and growing Main Civil Engineering Contractor who are looking to add an experienced CAD/BIM Technician to their team in Co. Galway.

The company has a strong portfolio of large-scale Civil Engineering and Infrastructure projects across Ireland, with an excellent pipeline of work ahead.

The role will be based primarily from the Galway office, working closely with the wider engineering and project teams, with some site exposure required from time to time. There may also be an opportunity for hybrid working following successful completion of probation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their BIM capabilities, gain exposure to major infrastructure projects and build a long-term career within a growing contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models.
  • Develop designs from engineering concepts, sketches and calculations.
  • Support water, wastewater, RC and infrastructure project designs.
  • Coordinate models with engineering and wider project teams.
  • Carry out clash detection using Autodesk Navisworks where required.
  • Maintain drawing registers, revisions and document version control.
  • Ensure designs comply with BIM protocols and project standards.
  • Assist with quantity take-offs and project documentation requirements.

Requirements

  • Relevant Civil Engineering, Construction or similar third-level qualification.
  • Ideally three years' relevant CAD/BIM industry experience in Ireland/UK.
  • Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Civil 3D and Autodesk Navisworks experience highly advantageous.
  • Water, wastewater, utilities or heavy civils experience advantageous.
  • Main Contractor or engineering consultancy experience highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical drawing accuracy.
