We are currently recruiting for a Desktop Home Assessing Team Leader on behalf of one of Australia’s leading insurance providers. The Desktop Home Assessing Team Leader plays a pivotal role in leading and developing a team of Desktop Home Assessors responsible for virtual property assessments, cost validation, scope accuracy and the end-to-end management of claims.

You will provide ongoing coaching and guidance to the team, ensuring consistency and quality across virtual assessments and Scopes of Work, while monitoring performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Desktop Home Assessors to achieve high standards of service, quality and process adherence.
- Provide ongoing coaching across scoping accuracy, cost validation, compliance, project coordination and virtual assessment techniques.
- Monitor team performance and KPIs, providing constructive feedback and setting clear expectations and achievable targets.
- Manage escalated claims, complaints and other complex matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve claims processes, cost outcomes and overall team capability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide operational insights to support ongoing process and system improvements.
- Track and report on productivity and quality metrics to ensure performance remains in line with expectations.

- Full-time, permanent opportunity with a salary package of $100,000–$117,000 inclusive of super.

About you
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Previous experience managing, leading, coaching and mentoring a professional team.
- Experience within the insurance, building, construction or trades sectors, with the ability to apply your technical knowledge to property claims.
- A strong understanding of the desktop assessing role and the end-to-end claims process.
- Previous estimating and insurance experience is essential.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to confidently coach and develop team members while driving performance, quality and continuous improvement.
