LORG Talent is partnering with an established truck and bus dealership to recruit a qualified Heavy Vehicle Technician for a permanent, full-time opportunity in Melbourne, Victoria.

You will work on Volvo, UD and Mack commercial vehicles, carrying out diagnostics, servicing and repairs within a dealership workshop.

The role

  • Service and repair heavy commercial vehicles
  • Complete mechanical and electrical diagnostics
  • Repair engines, transmissions, braking and suspension systems
  • Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Complete breakdown repairs and fault-finding
  • Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify faults
  • Maintain accurate job cards and service records
  • Work safely and support the workshop team


About you

  • Australian Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic trade qualification, or equivalent international qualification
  • For UK and Irish applicants: a relevant City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, IMI or equivalent qualification in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Experience working on trucks, buses or other heavy commercial vehicles
  • Volvo, UD or Mack experience highly regarded
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
