Enrolled Agent

Experienced EAs are needed to help with preparation and review of moderately complex personal individual income tax returns that are initially prepared by AI. This is a flexible, remote contractor role with competitive pay, must be in the USA and able to devote 10-40+hours/week through April 16, 2026. 

Qualifications:

• Active Enrolled Agent or CPA 
• Minimum 2 years of experience preparing and reviewing a significant number of moderately complex Form 1040s individual tax returns which may include K-1s each busy season. (150+ returns each busy season)
• Exceptional working knowledge of at least one, preferably more than one of the following software platforms: ProSeries, Lacerte, ProConnect, Drake, Axcess, or UltraTax.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to spot errors and ensure compliance independently.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, tech-forward environment that uses Slack as a main mode of communication.
• No time zone requirement but must be in USA
• Onboarding Initial paid test return completion (~2 hours +~2 hour set up) asynchronous at the candidate's convenience + DWG onboarding must be successfully completed ASAP
• Unless otherwise agreed upon by candidate and Magnetic, position runs from now, intensifying mid-February, and continues through April 15th.
• Accurate number of hours available per week is important
• Ability to work more than 40 hours a week during peak times

The role itself has two key requirements: Contractors must complete most returns with minimal supervision within 12 hours after claiming them to meet Magnetic's 3-day turnaround promise to customers

Additional info: Magnetic only supports standard individual forms and basic schedules (A, C, E, F), not highly complex items.
