Senior Cost Accountant/ Hands on Cost AMG

We’re partnering with a growing company seeking a Cost Accounting Consultant to support month-end close, manufacturing cost analysis, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives. This role will partner closely with finance and operations teams to provide insights that drive business decisions and operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance standard cost accounting processes, including material, labor, and overhead costing
• Support month-end close activities including accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Analyze manufacturing variances and provide actionable recommendations
• Partner with operations to identify and track cost-saving initiatives
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Support consolidated financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and process improvements
• Prepare audit support documentation and respond to auditor requests

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, FP&A, or manufacturing finance
• Strong understanding of standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience with automation or process improvement initiatives is a plus
