We’re partnering with a HR and customer experience consultancy, to find an ambitious Business Development Manager who knows how to open doors, uncover genuine business challenges and turn conversations into commercial opportunities.
This is a true new business / hunter role. You’ll be responsible for creating opportunities across the two core service areas — Customer Experience & Sales Training and Fractional HR & People & Culture.
Reporting directly to the owner, you’ll have genuine autonomy, direct access to decision-makers and the opportunity to help shape growth.

You'll ideally have:
Experience across HR, recruitment, People & Culture, training, consulting, customer experience or a related professional services environment would be highly regarded.
An HR qualification or recruitment background would also be a bonus, but commercial sales ability and the right mindset are the priority.

What's On Offer?
- $100K–$120K + Super (FTE) + Commission, depending on experience
- Full-time or part-time flexibility, with potential to transition to full-time

About the Role
As the Business Development Manager, your focus will be simple: create new opportunities and help grow the business.
You’ll identify prospective clients, build relationships with business owners and leadership teams, understand their challenges and connect them with the right solution.
You’ll have the freedom to build your own approach and leverage multiple channels, including:
- Cold calling and outbound prospecting
- LinkedIn and email outreach
- Networking and industry events
- In-person meetings
- Referral and relationship-based business development
- Existing networking partnerships and business communities
What You'll Be Doing
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of new SME and mid-market prospects
- Identify and engage business owners, MDs, CEOs, CFOs and operational leaders
- Generate new business across both HR/People & Culture and Customer Experience services
- Run consultative discovery conversations to understand business challenges and pain points
- Identify opportunities around people, performance, compliance, retention, customer experience and sales capability
- Develop trusted relationships and position yourself as a credible commercial advisor
- Convert prospects into meetings, proposals and new client engagements
- Work closely with Luke to develop solutions, proposals and commercial opportunities
- Attend networking events, industry functions and client meetings
- Maintain consistent activity and momentum across your pipeline
- Potentially participate in selected client engagements to deepen your understanding of the business and its services
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with genuine drive, commercial hunger and a hunter mentality.
You'll ideally have:
- 3+ years' experience in B2B business development or consultative sales
- A proven ability to generate your own opportunities rather than relying solely on inbound leads
- Experience selling into SME or mid-market businesses
- Strong discovery and questioning skills
- The ability to sell solutions rather than simply products or services
- Confidence speaking with senior decision-makers and business owners
- Strong commercial instincts and an understanding of ROI and business outcomes
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust quickly
- The resilience and persistence required for genuine new business development
- A self-starting nature and the ability to work autonomously
