In this new role, you’ll enjoy a 50:50 blend of on‑site support at a vibrant local school with office-based work supporting a diverse mix of clients. You’ll join a supportive, people‑first team that’s passionate about delivering exceptional experiences, whether you’re face‑to‑face with a client or collaborating from their modern office in Hastings.
As systems engineer, you will naturally love solving problems, building relationships, and making technology feel effortless for every user. On‑site at the school, you’ll be the go‑to problem‑solver, providing first-line support for staff and students, keeping systems humming day-to-day. This will see you responding to service requests across a wide mix of tools and platforms, tackling issues with Windows desktops, printers, mobile devices, wireless solutions, audiovisual technologies, server environments, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory. When you’re back in the office, you’ll switch gears into remote support mode, resolving tickets, troubleshooting more complex issues, and supporting a broad client base across multiple industries. You’ll collaborate closely with the wider team, share insights, escalate where needed, and help keep GCT clients’ environments running smoothly from behind the scenes.
To hit the ground running, you’ll already be in a systems engineer role (or similar) with solid, hands‑on experience. An IT degree or diploma is ideal, and time in an MSP environment will give you a strong advantage. You’ll bring successful troubleshooting skills across hosted ICT infrastructure, modern desktop, networks, servers, cloud platforms and datacenters, and KAMAR knowledge would be a real bonus. With half your week spent on‑site at a school, you’ll need to genuinely enjoy direct customer interaction, from building rapport quickly, communicating clearly, and representing GCT with professionalism in a busy, people‑focused environment. You’ll be well supported and fully integrated into the wider GCT team, with experienced colleagues who will mentor you, back you, and help you grow your skills even further.
