We are on the hunt for a Business Manager to lead them through their next phase of growth and development, and to keep pace with their demands and opportunities. This newly created role is centred on supporting the business to operate at its best through strengthening structures, refining processes, and enhancing overall team performance. With a strong focus on people engagement, you’ll work closely with the Managing Director to provide day-to-day oversight of operations, foster a positive and high-performing team environment, and bring cohesion and commercial clarity across the business.
You’ll bring a hands-on, can-do approach to overseeing the day-to-day running of the business, ensuring operations are organised, efficient, and running smoothly. You’ll be leading and supporting the administration and finance teams, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing environment where people feel engaged and are clear on expectations. On the commercial side of the business, you will be monitoring key performance indicators including crane utilisation, keeping a close eye on costs, and supporting sound decision-making to ensure the business remains financially healthy and sustainable, with disciplined and organised workflows.
Strong people leadership, sound operational judgement, pragmatism, and the ability to build trust across teams will be key. Your background may come from a range of industries, particularly within construction, transport, logistics, contracting or service-based industries. A technical crane-related background isn’t essential, but you must be comfortable spending time on site, understanding how things work in practice, and engaging with people at all levels.
The team delivers critical lifting, access, and transport solutions to clients throughout Hawke’s Bay and beyond. As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll play an important role in shaping the future direction of the business while ensuring day-to-day excellence across operations, people and performance.
