Applications are now open for PGY2 Hospital Medical Officer (General) positions commencing in February 2027 within a major regional teaching hospital in Victoria.

This 12-month programme provides an excellent foundation for doctors seeking broad clinical experience before entering Basic Physician Training, Surgical Education and Training (SET), Critical Care, General Practice or other specialist training pathways.

Working within a supportive teaching environment, you will complete a series of supervised rotations across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties while receiving outstanding education and mentorship.

The Programme
Successful applicants will complete four 13-week rotations across a broad selection of general and specialty services.

This varied rotation programme enables doctors to develop strong clinical skills while exploring different specialty interests before progressing into vocational training.

Essential Requirements
Applicants should possess:

• Medical degree recognised for registration in Australia.
• Current or eligible General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), or equivalent New Zealand registration.
