Machinery Spare Pasts Assistant

FRS Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Machinery Spare Pasts assistant for a leading farm machinery dealer in Athenry Co Galway. This is a part-time permanent role.

This is a varied role combining spare parts, customer service, telephone enquiries, sales and stock management.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of agricultural machinery and spare parts and will be confident dealing with customers both in person and over the telephone. You will play an important role in identifying the correct parts, processing sales and orders, maintaining stock and keeping the parts store organised.

Duties to include

• Deal with customers in person and provide helpful, professional service.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and deal with customer parts enquiries.
• Handle spare parts sales, both over the phone and in person.
• Identify customers' requirements and recommend the correct parts or suitable alternatives.
• Identify agricultural machinery spare parts using parts books, diagrams, catalogues and technical information.
• Process parts orders, quotations and sales accurately.
• Order spare parts from suppliers and follow up on outstanding orders.
• Receive, check and put away incoming stock.
• Maintain an organised and efficient parts store.
• Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock checks.
• Prepare parts for workshop jobs and customer orders.
• Assist customers in finding the correct replacement parts for their machinery.
• Build and maintain good relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Assist with general parts store duties as required.

Candidate profile

• Good knowledge of agricultural/farm machinery spare parts.
• Experience working with or around agricultural machinery.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Confidence dealing with customers face-to-face and over the telephone.
• Experience or an interest in parts sales.
• The ability to identify parts using diagrams, catalogues and parts books.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Remuneration package

Attractive hourly rate depending on experience to date.
