Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in the Tipperary/Midlands region, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team.
This is an initial 11-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
Reporting to the HR Manager, you will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company's Health & Safety management systems across the site.
Working closely with management, supervisors and employees, you will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Irish Health & Safety legislation and maintaining a safe and proactive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety policies, procedures and systems.
- Carry out regular workplace safety inspections and audits, identifying hazards and following up on corrective actions.
- Assist with the preparation, review and maintenance of Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures and Method Statements.
- Monitor compliance with site Health & Safety procedures and escalate areas of concern where required.
- Assist with the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences.
- Identify root causes and recommend appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate Health & Safety, accident and incident records.
- Identify & coordinate Health & Safety training requirements across the business.
- Support Health & Safety inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
- Deliver Manual Handling training as part of the new employee induction process and coordinate refresher training.
- Assist with fire safety inspections, emergency drills and emergency preparedness activities.
- Assist with the preparation of Health & Safety reports, statistics and performance updates.
About You
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, ideally Level 6 or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety role, preferably within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
- Good knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and workplace safety requirements.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
- Strong organisational, communication and administrative skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively with management and employees at all levels.
