The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role partners closely with the finance and property teams.

  • Maintain general ledger (Xero) across property portfolios and entities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage treasury functions, including daily cash flow and banking facilities
  • Oversee supplier payment processes via Hubdoc and online banking in line with internal controls and approvals
  • Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations on a timely basis
  • Provide cover across key finance functions to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing
  • Liaise with internal property teams and external asset managers to ensure accurate accounting of transactions, including rent and opex adjustments
  • Support the annual budgeting process across the management company and property portfolios
  • Analyse key financial drivers and contribute to clear, insightful reporting and presentation
  • Analyse performance against budget and forecast, identifying key variances and drivers
  • Prepare accurate quarterly reporting for stakeholders on business performance and activity
  • Assist with preparation of NZ IFRS-compliant financial statements for investment portfolios and special purpose entities
  • Prepare GST, FBT, and PAYE returns
  • Assist with preparation of income tax returns
  • Support commercial analysis and finance-related project work
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the finance function and wider business
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Demonstrated accounting experience relevant to the requirements of the role
  • Proficient in accounting systems such as Xero and Hubdoc
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and competent Word skills for reporting and documentation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
