The Product Design Engineer is contributing to the development of new or existing products, in line with planning, process, quality and cost targets. He acts as the main technical window in front of customers. The main missions of the role are to:

Participate to the creation of design concepts and alternative design solutions;

Prepare and maintain engineering data releases and Engineering Change Documents;
-
Actively participate in product design reviews;
-
Give direction to CAD operators on data creation and submission;
-
Ensure that designs comply with government and customer specifications and regulations;
-
Verify specific customer CAD data integrity requirements, with the help of CAD operators;
-
Complete all assignments following prescribed schedule to statify customers’ milestones;
-
With the support of the local Testing facility, intiate technical investigations linked to quality issue, and requirements satisfaction and requests support to worldwide development teams as needed;

Represent in Japan the Engineering teams located overseas and establish a strong communication to be able to answer to all design enquiries made by customer in Japan;

Become familiar by Faurecia’s Products, Processes and Technologies to present them to the customers as needed during the development;

Manages the information exchange between worlwide development teams and customer of all design deliverables and particularly: requirements clarification, CAD submission, development progress APQP deliverables and validation reports.

Assist the Commercial Team in developing Technical Presentation supporting Products Proposals;
Requirements
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will have/be:
-
Bachelor's degree in engineering;
-
Experience in Design & Development within an industrial environment, ideally in the automotive industry;
-
Team player with strong communication skills;
-
International mind set;
-
Minimum bi-lingual (English required);
-
Knowledge and experience in the Project Management process;
-
Good knowledge of Program standards, tools, and methods;
-
Familiar with primary manufacturing methods.
