About the Role
Our Federal Government client is seeking a Senior SAS Platform Administrator (Infrastructure Engineer). This is an initial 12-month contract with extension options up to a maximum of 24 months, located across ACT, QLD, VIC, SA or TAS, with hybrid working arrangements. Working from home will be considered on a case-by-case basis, provided you can attend the office when required.

As the selected candidate, you will:

• Administer and support enterprise SAS platforms, including SAS Viya and SAS Visual Analytics.
• Monitor, maintain and optimise SAS infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve platform, infrastructure and system issues, supporting incident and problem management activities.
• Plan, test and implement system patching, upgrades and security enhancements.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve operational efficiency.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and disaster recovery documentation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security and project teams to deliver platform improvements and infrastructure changes.

To be successful in this role you should have:

• Demonstrated experience administering enterprise SAS environments, including SAS Viya and SAS Visual Analytics.
• Strong infrastructure engineering experience supporting Linux and/or virtualised enterprise environments.
• Experience with availability, capacity and problem management in large production environments.
• Experience implementing infrastructure maintenance, upgrades and system changes.
• Experience using scripting or programming languages to automate administration and deployment tasks.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation and standard operating procedures.

It is desirable if you have:

• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Experience working within large enterprise or Australian Government ICT environments.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning, systems design and infrastructure automation.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.
