JustFund provides funding to individuals, predominantly women, who cannot afford legal fees to pursue what they are legally entitled to during separation, estate administration, and estates litigation. Since launching in Australia in 2022, they have unlocked more than $1.5 billion in entitlements, partnered with over 1,300 law firms, and were recognised with FinTech Australia’s Finnies Award 2025 for Excellence in Consumer Lending.

Following their expansion into New Zealand in 2024, JustFund is entering an exciting phase of growth and is now seeking their first dedicated Wills & Estates Lawyer in New Zealand. This is a pioneering opportunity and a first of its kind role in the NZ market to help shape the future of legal funding in the region.

About the Role
As Client Engagement Manager (In-House Wills & Estates Lawyer), you'll sit at the heart of JustFund's estates business in New Zealand. This is an assessment and advisory role — not drafting, not billing, not court appearances. Instead, you'll use your estates expertise to:

• Assess funding applications from executors, beneficiaries, and law firms — evaluating estate solvency, asset sufficiency, and the merits of the matter
• Identify and mitigate legal and financial risk in funding decisions
• Help build and refine JustFund's credit policy and application journey for the NZ estates market
• Develop and maintain deep relationships with law firm partners across New Zealand
• Act as a trusted, empathetic point of contact for clients navigating some of their most difficult moments
• Contribute to the growth of a business line that has only been operating for 8 months — your input will genuinely shape what it becomes

Key Attributes:

• 5+ years of experience in a wills & estates practice (litigation and/or administration)
• Strong working knowledge of estate solvency, executor obligations, and beneficiary entitlements under NZ law
• Experience across multiple jurisdictions is a plus
• A commercial mindset — you think beyond the legal document to the outcome it produces
• Someone who is genuinely energised by ambiguity and the opportunity to build something, not just operate within it
• Warm, empathetic, and client-focused — JustFund's clients are often in difficult personal and financial circumstances
• An action orientation — you move fast, take ownership, and get things done
