Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced ICT Contracts Officer to lead the management and governance of ICT contracts across a complex enterprise environment. This role will be responsible for developing, overseeing the full contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and driving value-for-money outcomes through effective vendor and stakeholder management.
 
Working closely with ICT leaders, procurement, legal and contract owners, you will establish robust contract management practices, coordinate procurement activities, and proactively manage contract performance, risks and renewals.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the ICT Contracts Forward Plan and procurement strategy for the 2026/27 financial year.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of ICT contracts, including contract establishment, renewals, variations, extensions and terminations.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve the ICT Contract Management Framework, including templates, guidelines, governance processes and reporting.
  • Review and analyse ICT contracts with contract owners to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Monitor contract performance, key milestones, service levels and vendor deliverables while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring appropriate governance and compliance controls are maintained.
  • Coordinate ICT procurement activities, including RFQs, RFTs and RFPs, vendor evaluations and contract negotiations.
  • Work collaboratively with Procurement, Legal, ICT and business stakeholders to achieve best-value procurement outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with ICT vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure proactive contract management and effective issue resolution.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on contract management best practices, procurement policies and ICT vendor management.
  • Produce contract reporting, performance metrics and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of emerging ICT procurement trends, legislation and contract management best practices to continuously improve processes
 
 
About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Proven experience managing ICT contracts within a government, local government or large enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in ICT procurement, including RFQs, RFTs, vendor evaluations and contract negotiations.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management principles, contract law, procurement policies and ICT vendor management.
  • Experience developing or managing contract management frameworks, governance processes, templates and reporting.
  • Ability to review and analyse contracts, monitor vendor performance, ensure compliance and identify contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with experience managing multiple contracts and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across ICT, Procurement, Legal and business teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, Procurement, Commerce or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience within Local Government or the Public Sector will be highly regarded.
  • Project management experience will be considered advantageous.
