Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing Manager - King Country Pet Food

As health, safety, environment and wellbeing manager, you’ll champion safe manufacturing practices, drive environmental stewardship, and support the wellbeing of a dedicated team who take pride in producing high‑quality nutrition for pets globally. Reporting to the COO, you’ll work closely with the senior leadership team and operational managers across production, quality, engineering, and logistics to ensure the site meets the highest standards, not just for compliance, but for genuine, people‑first excellence. You’ll also lead and mentor a HSEW Coordinator, building a strong, capable HSEW team that can influence and support the business at every level. The scope is broad, and you’ll be very hands‑on in this role, from leading incident reviews, supporting managers with risk assessments, reviewing and improving safe operating procedures, monitoring environmental compliance, and checking in with teams on wellbeing initiatives.  With a clear focus on the next stage of maturity, you’ll be responsible for delivering the HS&W Road Map over the next two years, helping to lead and drive a culture where health, safety, environment and wellbeing are embedded in how work gets done. You’ll drive continuous improvement and influence decision making at every level, helping to strengthen a culture where people feel supported, confident, and empowered to do their best work.
  
We are looking for someone who loves empowering team leaders with the right knowledge and advice and gets a buzz from seeing people thrive.  Holding relevant health and safety qualifications, you may be in a current health, safety and wellbeing role now and looking for a fresh change, or you could be on your way to the next step in your career.  Either way, it will be important that you are able to hit the ground running on-site in Taumaranui.  It will be an advantage if you bring manufacturing / production experience and ideally understand the risk profile of a food manufacturing or FMCG business.  You will have a strong passion for doing the right thing, and you must understand and have working knowledge of NZ health and safety regulations and legislation.  For the right attitude and ability, this hands-on role could be incredibly satisfying.  Remuneration will reflect your experience.
