Excellent opportunity to join a leading construction organisation, as our client looks to appoint a Design Manager to lead and develop their design function from their Limerick office.

Our client is a well-established construction company with a strong reputation for delivering large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across Ireland.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are seeking an experienced Design Manager to oversee the design process across multiple projects while managing and mentoring a team of design professionals.

Role:

Based in Limerick, the successful Design Manager will take ownership of the design function, ensuring projects progress efficiently from concept through to construction. You will work closely with internal departments, consultants, and project teams while leading and developing a team of Design Engineers.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the design process across multiple live construction projects
• Leading and mentoring a team of Design Engineers and technical staff
• Coordinating design activities between internal teams, external consultants, and contractors
• Reviewing drawings, technical submissions, and design documentation
• Ensuring designs meet client, regulatory, and project requirements
• Managing project design programmes and ensuring key milestones are achieved
• Identifying and resolving design-related issues throughout the project lifecycle
• Supporting value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives
• Attending design meetings and acting as a key stakeholder throughout project delivery
• Reporting on project design progress to senior management

Person:

This role will suit a senior design professional with a strong architectural technical background and experience managing both projects and people.

• Degree or qualification in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Construction, Building Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong background in design management within the construction sector
• Experience managing and developing technical teams
• Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects
• Strong understanding of building regulations, technical detailing, and construction methodologies
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills

Package:

• Salary: €85,000 – €90,000
• 5% Pension Contribution
