Data Engineer – Financial Services / 30k to 50k

I am currently helping our Client seeking a Data Engineer to join the team in Hong Kong.

Role / Requirements

  • Experience in Application Development, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and ETL
  • Strong analytical abilities and data skills
  • Manage routine or special data requests from various business teams, design and execute comprehensive data pipelines encompassing data collection, ETL, analysis, reporting, and visualization, including dashboard creation and data modeling
  • Support, maintain, and enhance applications developed in different technologies within the data platform/investment platform technology stack: Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL, Excel VBA, etc.
  • Address data-related issues and uphold best practices in data management
  • Assist business users with the daily operation of our data warehouse/data lake/lakehouse
  • Engage in special projects or tasks as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or developing integration solutions
  • Proficient programming skills and experience in a contemporary structured programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python, JavaScript). Knowledge of full-stack and end-to-end development is advantageous
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Python, R, Excel), SQL database querying, working with data lakes, and constructing data pipelines
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, server architecture, and system integration (both frontend and backend) at a high level
  • Experience in financial analysis, investment processes, or web scraping is a plus
  • Familiarity with UiPath and Apache Airflow is a plus
  • Experience in developing AI applications or agent-based workflows is a plus
  • Must possess strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and an engineering mindset
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
