The Role

As a Water Treatment Service Chemist, you will be responsible for the ongoing monitoring and management of water treatment programmes across a small number of major food and beverage accounts.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out weekly water testing and analysis
• Monitoring cooling tower water systems
• Testing and monitoring steam boiler systems
• Carrying out routine chemical analysis and interpreting results
• Checking chemical dosing systems and treatment levels
• Identifying trends, issues and potential problems
• Making recommendations to maintain optimum system performance
• Maintaining accurate site records and producing service reports
• Liaising with customers and site engineering/maintenance teams
• Working closely with internal technical and account management teams
• Ensuring water treatment programmes remain effective and compliant

This is a customer-facing technical role where you'll become a key point of contact on site, developing a detailed understanding of your customers' systems and helping to ensure their water treatment programmes perform effectively.

The Person

We're looking for someone with experience in industrial water treatment, ideally with exposure to:

• Cooling towers
• Steam boilers
• Closed systems
• Industrial water chemistry
• Chemical dosing
• Water testing and analysis

You may currently be working as a Service Chemist, Water Treatment Technician, Water Treatment Engineer, Field Chemist or Technical Service Engineer.

A relevant scientific, engineering or water treatment background would be advantageous, but practical industry experience is equally important.

You'll need to be comfortable working independently, dealing directly with customers and travelling between sites across the Burton-on-Trent, Derbyshire and Sheffield area.
