Powder Coater

A powder coater is responsible for applying protective and decorative powder coatings to metal and other surfaces, primarily in manufacturing, automotive, and industrial environments. The role ensures products have a durable, high-quality finish that meets industry and client specifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, blasting, and masking as necessary

• Set up and operate powder coating equipment including spray guns, booths, and ovens

• Apply powder coatings to parts and products according to specifications

• Inspect coated items for quality, uniformity, and proper thickness

• Touch up, rework, or strip coatings when necessary

• Follow all safety procedures, including the proper handling of materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness

• Document work performed and report any issues or defects to supervisors

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous experience in powder coating, 1-2 years

• Familiarity with powder coating processes, materials, and equipment

• Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

• Good physical stamina and the ability to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 pounds]

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
