Apply directEMEA Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a private equity-backed, global group. We are seeking a hands-on Accountant to join a lean corporate finance team in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day financial accounting processes across key entities.
In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate general ledger management, supporting month-end and year-end closing cycles, and ensuring compliance under both Swiss GAAP and US GAAP.
This role will be predominantly office-based, and you will need to work collaboratively with your colleagues, local finance teams, and external partners.
Given the regular interaction with regional business entities and stakeholders, fluency in German is essential.
The role will suit someone who brings energy, solid multi-GAAP accounting knowledge, a detail-oriented approach, and a passion to actively participate in a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities of the Accountant:
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes in compliance with Swiss GAAP and US GAAP
- Assist with local statutory accounting and help perform reconciliations between local Swiss statutory requirements and US GAAP group reporting
- Maintain day-to-day general ledger accounts, including fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of local financial documentation and liaise with external auditors during routine audit activities
- Collaborate closely with local finance colleagues and the wider group team to ensure consistent accounting practices
- Provide support on ad-hoc accounting tasks and process improvement initiatives within the team
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting (or equivalent relevant professional education)
- Practical experience in general ledger accounting, ideally within an international business environment
- Hands-on experience or sound working knowledge of both Swiss GAAP and US GAAP accounting standards
- Fluency in German and professional-level English language skills are essential
- Experience working with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong team player with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude, good attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
