This company’s Radio, Acoustic, Archival, GPS and Satellite instruments deployed on animals throughout the world provide insight to animal behaviour, how and where they spend their lives. We need an embedded systems design engineer to design, implement, and verify new products and feature, as well as to support existing product designs.
To be successful in this role you will need hands-on embedded systems design experience. You will be a good systems programmer and you’ll have solid knowledge of general circuit theory. Other key experience we are looking for includes:

- Bachelor level qualification at the minimum, with hands-on software/firmware design experience,
- Software exposure to the likes of C, C#, Java or similar,
- Excellent familiarity with test & measurement equipment normally used in design work,
- Good dexterity with miniature circuits and components;
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and demonstrated ability of documenting the engineering work, very good command of English language is a must;
- Practical knowledge of firmware design principles
- Up-to-date familiarity with the latest electronic components, primary and secondary batteries, sensors and signal conditioning would be welcome assets as well.
- Experience with programming techniques for ultra low-power battery operated systems would be a great asset although can be taught on the job.
