Join a dynamic organisation committed to delivering high-quality services across the state. This highly regarded Local Government department is seeking a HR Business Partner to work closely with the Manager supporting BAU HR operations.

Please note, this is a 3-month leave cover contract with an immediate start, offering hybrid working (3 days per week in the Sydney CBD).  


The Job...
Reporting to the Manager, People Operations in this HR Business Partner role, your key accountabilities include:
  • Partner with business units to provide expert advice on people policies, practices and compliance.
  • Act as SME across P&C functions including recruitment, L&D, D&I, WHS, Workers Compensation, HR systems and payroll.
  • Manage employee and industrial relations, ensuring fair outcomes and risk mitigation.
  • Lead organisational change using structured change management approaches.
  • Design and implement HR solutions to improve performance and business outcomes.
  • Support capability uplift, performance improvement and continuous learning.

To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following:
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management (degree or diploma) or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience providing broad HR generalist advice within large or complex organisations.
  • Strong consultative approach in delivering HR services to managers and employees.
  • Sound understanding of relevant legislative and industrial relations frameworks.
  • Local Government experience desirable but not essential.
  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across multiple matters simultaneously.
