This role goes well beyond traditional accounting. In addition to supporting the monthly management accounting, budgeting and audit functions, this will see you stepping into high‑impact and meaningful analyst work. Your financial insight, analytical strength and ability to translate data into action will directly influence performance and help shape the future direction of Hawke’s Bay Airport.

Hawke’s Bay Airport is a critical gateway for residents, businesses and visitors, playing a central role in supporting economic growth, tourism and regional development. In this hands‑on role, reporting directly to the CFO, you will contribute to the financial and commercial activity that underpins the airport’s performance today and its planning for tomorrow. Your core focus will be ensuring accurate financial transactions and robust management accounting across the airport’s operations. You’ll work closely with operational leaders, senior management and a wide range of external stakeholders, including Councils, Treasury and the Crown, providing clear analysis, thoughtful forecasting and confident reporting. No two days will look the same, and your scope will see you right across analysing passenger trends, building data‑driven models, supporting commercial negotiations or helping evaluate new initiatives and investments. You’ll join a friendly, engaged and fun team that values collaboration, continuous improvement and fresh thinking.
This is best suited to a tertiary qualified accountant who relates well to NZ accounting practices and is ready to bring solid technical capability into a role with far greater scope. You’ll need to be strong in transactional accounting, but equally able to interpret the numbers, extract insights and translate them into meaningful thinking. This is an excellent chance to step out of the CA firm environment or to make a career move into an entity where you will help steer the performance of an asset so important in this region.
