System Engineer (Manager)

Our client is a top Tier 1 automotive supplier and leader in electrification. They have an international office environment and a flexible work office system.

To support continued expansion, they are hiring a System Engineer (Manager level) as a newly created position.

Overview:

The System Engineer serves as the key technical liaison between customers and internal development teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment. This role involves analyzing, refining, and documenting stakeholder requirements while facilitating collaboration among technical experts to define and validate a product system architecture that effectively meets project needs.

Position Description:

• Develop and document the Product System Requirement Specification.

• Serve as the primary technical interface for customers while collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Test Engineers, Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Requirements Management Engineers.

• Define and document both external and internal system interfaces.

• Analyze and refine stakeholder requirements to ensure clarity and feasibility.

• Resolve ambiguities in requirements by:

  • Engaging with customers to clarify unclear or conflicting stakeholder requirements.

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and Requirements Engineers to address inconsistencies in derived requirements.

• Break down and derive system requirements based on validated stakeholder inputs.

• Categorize requirements as functional or non-functional, considering potential environmental impacts.

• Identify and resolve requirement defects to maintain system integrity.

• Conduct impact analysis for customer-driven product change requests.

• Define system safety requirements based on the Functional Safety Concept, incorporating necessary safety mechanisms and safe states.

• Establish system cybersecurity requirements derived from the Cybersecurity Concept.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering: Electronics or Software

• Knowledge of Software/embedded design is MUST (electronics design is a plus)

• Knowledge of the System Requirements Engineering procedures established in the organization and project.

• Knowledge of the traceability procedures

• Knowledge of the Requirements management tools used in the organization & project (i.e. DOORS)

• Knowledge of the Requirements management system & strategy established in the project

• Knowledge of the change management tools used in the organization & project (i.e. ALM)

• Knowledge of the problem resolution tools used in the organization & project (i.e. ALM)

• Knowledge of System Requirements writing methodology and best practices

• Knowledge of the ISO 26262 standard

• Knowledge of the FMEA Method

• Knowledge of the FTA Method

• Knowledge of the ISO 21434 standard
