Available immediately and looking for your next payroll opportunity? MAYDAY is currently partnering with a well-established organisation in South East Melbourne to recruit a Payroll Officer for a 3-month temporary assignment.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join an established and collaborative payroll function supporting a high-volume workforce. You’ll play an important role in the day-to-day payroll operation, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.

About the Role

This is a hands-on Payroll Officer position supporting a busy, high-volume payroll function. You’ll be responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time, while providing support across day-to-day payroll queries and administration.

• 3-month temporary assignment with an immediate start
• Join an established, collaborative and high-volume payroll environment
• Process end-to-end payroll accurately and efficiently within tight deadlines
• Manage employee payroll queries and provide timely support
• Ensure payroll data is accurate and maintained across the payroll system
• Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting and general payroll administration
• Work across an established payroll system — systems experience is flexible
• Support the wider payroll team with day-to-day priorities and deadlines

Skills & Experience

We’re looking for a capable and reliable Payroll Officer who can step into a busy environment and hit the ground running.
You’ll ideally bring:

• Previous experience in a Payroll Officer or similar payroll position
• Experience processing high-volume payroll within a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines
• Confidence picking up new payroll systems quickly — specific system experience is not essential
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach to handling payroll queries
