This role is one of four strategic appointments across Australia, the United States and the Middle East. During the establishment phase, the role reports directly to the CEO and carries high visibility across leadership.
This is not incremental hiring. It is a deliberate shift to build a true new-business engine.
This role is best suited to a commercially strong hunter with experience in specification-led, project-based sales — ideally across construction products, architectural products, infrastructure, industrial, agricultural or other technical physical-product environments.
The OpportunityThis is a pure hunter role.
There is:
No inherited revenue
No existing portfolio to service
No team management responsibility
Instead, you will:
Identify and open new commercial opportunities across priority segments
Engage end users, specifiers and influencers early in the project or buying cycle
Build relationships with architects, designers, engineers, contractors, councils, schools, developers, fabricators and commercial decision-makers
Shape solution adoption and influence specification
Convert market insight into qualified pipeline and landed revenue
Once secured, business transitions to the Account Management team, freeing you to focus on the next opportunity.

What You’ll Be DoingCreating new opportunities across architectural shade, horticulture, light commercial and agriculture
Engaging schools, councils, vineyards, hospitality groups, infrastructure stakeholders and project influencers
Driving specification of GALE solutions through early-stage market and project engagement
Identifying the people and organisations who influence product selection before procurement decisions are made
Applying disciplined opportunity management and CRM rigour
Operating 50–80% in market, including interstate travel
Leveraging data, insight and curiosity to uncover competitive advantage
Building a repeatable, scalable pipeline of new business
This is long-cycle, multi-stakeholder, specification-led selling.
Who This Role Is ForYou are likely a senior BDM or commercial hunter who:
Thrives on opening markets rather than servicing accounts
Has experience selling tangible, technical or project-based solutions
Has sold into construction, architectural, infrastructure, industrial, agricultural or related environments
Understands how to influence specification before a purchase decision is made
Can engage end users, consultants, architects, builders, contractors, councils, schools or other project stakeholders
Understands value-based selling beyond product features and price
Is comfortable with ambiguity and long decision cycles
Has strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills
Wants autonomy, accountability and upside
Relevant backgrounds may include architectural products, lighting, shade, façade, flooring, building materials, playgrounds, commercial furniture, infrastructure products, technical textiles, irrigation, horticulture, agriculture or industrial products.
This role is less suited to candidates whose experience is primarily software, SaaS, digital platforms, transactional sales or account management without exposure to specification-led, project-based selling.
You are comfortable being measured on creation, not maintenance.
