About the Role
We are seeking multiple Junior Network Infrastructure Engineers to join a specialist technology team supporting a large-scale, mission-critical ICT environment.
In this role, you will work with a range of networking technologies, including Cisco and Juniper infrastructure, while supporting the ongoing operation, maintenance, and enhancement of secure network systems.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of complex network infrastructure environments.
  • Monitoring system performance, reliability, and availability using industry-standard management and monitoring tools.
  • Performing system configuration activities, backups, and restoration tasks under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Supporting incident, problem, and change management activities through established IT service management processes.
  • Assisting with user account administration and permissions management.
  • Contributing to the identification and resolution of operational issues.
  • Maintaining technical documentation, processes, and support procedures.
  • Supporting infrastructure installation, maintenance, and lifecycle activities.
The Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience supporting Cisco and/or Juniper networking environments.
  • Exposure to core ICT infrastructure and network administration activities.
  • Experience monitoring network infrastructure using tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Transport Controller, Splunk, or similar monitoring platforms.
  • Understanding of infrastructure support, configuration management, backups, and restoration processes.
  • Basic scripting or programming capability to support automation and operational tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • A willingness to learn and develop technical skills within a complex operational environment.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions
Experience Level: APS4/5 Equivalent
Security Requirements: Candidates must hold an active or reactivatable Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance on submission. Our client is not looking to upgrade an existing clearance for this position. An OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
