About the role

This role will contribute to the production, maintenance, and quality assurance of geospatial data and cartographic outputs, supporting Defence operational and strategic requirements within a structured and governed Enterprise GIS environment.

Role Responsibilities

• Demonstrated experience in GIS data production, capture, and quality assurance within structured environments.
• Relevant vocational or tertiary qualification in geospatial science, GIS, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in GIS tools (e.g. ArcGIS/SOCET GXP) for feature extraction (2D and 3D), editing, and data management.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of geospatial standards, data governance, and quality assurance practices.
• Ability to apply established methods to solve routine geospatial data issues.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in geospatial data capture, production, editing, and maintenance using GIS tools such as ArcGIS, SOCET GXP, or equivalent. Ability to work with structured data schemas and deliver outputs to defined specifications and standards.

What is on offer

• 12-month contract, with 2 x 12-month extension options.

Please note this role may require occasional domestic travel.

Security Requirements:

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. Due to the work environment, our client has requested that all candidates are required to hold a current TSPV Security Clearance. The successful candidate will need to undergo an additional security assessment before commencing in the role.
