Business Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join a growing logistics and 3PL business in Melbourne.

This is a true hunter role, focused on identifying, developing, and winning new business opportunities across warehousing, fulfilment, contract logistics, and supply chain solutions. Reporting to the Head of 3PL Sales, you will play a key role in driving market growth, building strategic customer relationships, and expanding revenue across Victoria.
 

This position offers a high degree of autonomy and is ideally suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where they can make a genuine commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

• Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and strategic outreach.
• Identify customer needs and develop tailored logistics and fulfilment solutions.
• Lead the sales process from initial engagement through to proposal, negotiation, and contract execution.
• Deliver against agreed sales, revenue, and margin targets. 

Market Engagement

• Build strong relationships with key decision-makers across a range of industries.
• Monitor market trends, customer demands, and competitor activity.
• Identify new opportunities for growth within the Victorian market.
• Act as a trusted advisor to prospective customers on supply chain and logistics solutions.
• Internal Collaboration - work closely with operational and support teams to develop customer solutions.

• Ensure successful customer onboarding and seamless handover of new accounts.
• Contribute market insights and customer feedback to support continuous business improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven success in business development within 3PL, logistics, warehousing, freight, transport, contract logistics, or e-commerce fulfilment.
• A demonstrated track record of winning and growing new business.
• Strong prospecting, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate profitable outcomes.
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
• A resilient, self-motivated, and results-focused approach.
• The ability to work autonomously while managing multiple sales opportunities.
• Strong pipeline management and CRM discipline.
• Experience in solution selling and developing customer-focused proposals.
