About the Role
We are seeking experienced Senior Security Engineers specialising in Vulnerability Assessment to join a high-impact team based in Adelaide. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, analysing, and prioritising vulnerabilities across complex ICT environments, ensuring robust security postures and risk mitigation strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong technical expertise in vulnerability assessment, threat modelling, and security testing, along with the ability to operate in highly secure and complex environments.
You will bring:
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Adelaide SA.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions
Experience Level: Senior – APS6 Equivalent
Security Requirements: Candidates must hold an active or reactivatable Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance on submission. Our client is not looking to upgrade an existing clearance for this position. An OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.

Key responsibilities include:
- Analysing threat profiles across a range of electronic systems and technologies
- Leading vulnerability assessments and contributing to penetration testing activities
- Identifying security weaknesses and recommending remediation strategies
- Conducting security risk and business impact assessments on complex systems
- Supporting incident response activities and investigating suspected cyber threats
- Evaluating and ensuring compliance with security controls and standards
- Providing expert advice on physical, procedural, and technical security practices
- Contributing to system design reviews, architecture decisions, and security frameworks
- Improving and maintaining operational security processes and methodologies
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong technical expertise in vulnerability assessment, threat modelling, and security testing, along with the ability to operate in highly secure and complex environments.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, or cyber security engineering
- Strong understanding of threat intelligence, threat modelling, and risk assessment methodologies
- Experience conducting and supporting security audits and compliance activities
- Ability to analyse, interpret, and communicate complex security risks and findings
- Familiarity with security frameworks, standards, and best practices
- Strong stakeholder engagement and reporting skills
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CREST, CIISEC, SFIA-aligned experience)
- Experience working within Defence or national security environments
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.
