Our end client is a large enterprise undertaking strategic digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving portfolio governance, investment planning, project delivery, resource optimisation, and business value realisation. The organisation is investing heavily in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) to enable greater visibility, alignment, and control across enterprise-wide programs and initiatives.

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Solutions Architect to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) solutions, with a strong focus on:

• Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM)
• Project Portfolio Management (PPM)
• Demand Management
• Resource Management
• Agile Development
• Investment Funding and Portfolio Governance
• Enterprise Architecture Integration
• Platform Integration and Governance

This is a permanent opportunity with flexibility to commence as an initial contract engagement for the right candidate. The role can be based in any Australian capital city, with preference for candidates located in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra.

 

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

• Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design across ServiceNow SPM and the broader ServiceNow ecosystem.
• Develop scalable, secure, and sustainable ServiceNow solution architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
• Define strategic roadmaps supporting portfolio governance, project delivery, and organisational transformation objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to implementation and delivery teams.
• Establish best-practice frameworks, governance models, and solution patterns for ServiceNow SPM.

 

Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM)

• Architect and implement ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solutions across enterprise environments.
• Design portfolio structures that improve visibility of initiatives, programs, projects, investments, and outcomes.
• Develop governance frameworks for portfolio prioritisation, investment management, and value realisation.
• Implement Demand Management processes to align business requests with strategic objectives.
• Design project and program management capabilities that support enterprise PMO functions.
• Enable resource planning and capacity management across large-scale portfolios.
• Support executive decision-making through portfolio analytics, dashboards, and reporting solutions.

 

Agile & Enterprise Planning

• Design Agile Development and hybrid delivery frameworks within ServiceNow.
• Support integration between strategic planning, project execution, and operational delivery functions.
• Enable enterprise-wide visibility across initiatives, risks, dependencies, and resource utilisation.
• Architect solutions that align strategic objectives with measurable business outcomes and OKRs.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with executive stakeholders, PMOs, enterprise architects, and business leaders.
• Facilitate architecture workshops and strategic planning sessions.
• Translate complex business and portfolio management requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions.
• Provide trusted advisory services on portfolio governance, investment planning, and transformation programs.
• Support business case development and strategic investment decision-making.

 

Integration & Governance

• Architect integrations between ServiceNow SPM and enterprise systems including ERP, HR, Finance, DevOps, and Agile tooling platforms.
• Establish architectural governance, security controls, and platform standards.
• Ensure solutions support scalability, reporting, operational excellence, and future platform growth.
• Contribute to enterprise architecture and digital transformation initiatives.

• Extensive ServiceNow platform architecture experience.

• Strong understanding of portfolio governance, project management methodologies, and organisational change initiatives.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale planning, prioritisation, and delivery frameworks.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with ERP, HR, Finance, and project delivery platforms.

 

Experience

• Proven experience delivering complex ServiceNow SPM transformation programs.
• Demonstrated experience implementing enterprise portfolio management and governance frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and consulting capability.
• Experience working with enterprise and government organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architecture governance and technical decision-making.
• Experience overseeing implementation partners and technical delivery teams.
• Experience engaging with PMOs, executive leadership teams, and transformation offices.
