My client, a leading precision engineering company in Shannon, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join its team.
The company manufactures high-precision components for the aerospace and medical device industries using modern CNC equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex 5-axis components within an AS9100 and ISO 9001-certified environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme complex 5-axis components using hyperMILL
- Create clear machine set-up instructions for CNC operators
- Communicate machining requirements and programme details to operators
- Verify completed programmes by running simulations
- Determine the appropriate sequence of machining operations
- Select cutting tools, fixturing and stock sizes based on the machining strategy
- Review and modify existing programmes to improve efficiency
- Support the successful transfer of programmes into production
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in 2D modelling, 3D modelling and drafting using hyperMILL
- Strong knowledge of CNC machine set-up, fixturing and tooling
- Experience programming complex 5-axis components
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
