Mechanic / Plant Fitter

An established specialist business based in Ashbourne is seeking an experienced Mechanic / Plant Fitter to join its busy workshop team.

This is a hands-on position involving the servicing, maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles, trailers, plant and heavy equipment.

The Role:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on plant, trailers and heavy equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
  • Complete preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Carry out welding and fabrication work where required
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard
  • Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanic, Plant Fitter, HGV Mechanic or similar
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with heavy vehicles, plant or trailers is advantageous
  • Welding/fabrication experience is beneficial
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full driving licence preferred
