Summary: Hand Grinding and selecting/setting cutting speeds, feed rates, depth/degree of cuts, and cutting tools, according to Blueprint specifications.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
• Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards.
• Smooth metal surfaces or edges.
• Measure materials to mark reference points, cutting lines, or other indicators.
• Trim excess material from workpieces.
• Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying information.
• Operate grinding equipment.
• Load materials into production equipment.
• Mount materials or workpieces onto production equipment.
• Record operational or production data.
• Reshape metal workpieces to established specifications.
• Sharpen cutting or grinding tools.

• Ability to bend, lift and stand for duration of shift.
• Ability to lift parts up to 50lbs.
• Ability to prioritize safety and the use of safety gear.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow specification sheets.
• Basic computer literacy
