Head of Finance

We're looking for an experienced Head of Finance to join a well-established New Zealand not-for-profit organisation where your financial expertise will directly support an important cause and help maximise the organisation's impact.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll lead the finance function, partnering with the Executive Team and Board to provide sound financial leadership and commercial advice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Preparing Board and management reports.
• Managing cashflow, audit and statutory compliance.
• Providing commercial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Overseeing investments, grants and financial governance.
• Leading and mentoring a small finance team.
• Driving continuous improvement across finance systems and processes.

You'll be a CA-qualified (or equivalent) finance leader with:

• Proven experience leading a finance function.
• Strong financial reporting and commercial skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
• A hands-on, collaborative leadership style.
• A genuine passion for working in a purpose-led organisation.

This isn't the role for someone looking to climb the corporate ladder. It's an opportunity for someone who wants to use their commercial expertise to make a meaningful contribution within the not-for-profit sector.
