The OpportunityThis is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting the wellbeing, engagement, and success of First Nations students across a respected educational community. The First Nations Student Coordinator will lead student support initiatives, strengthen relationships with families and communities, contribute to cultural awareness across the school, and support the implementation of the school's Reconciliation Action Plan.
Skills and Responsibilities- Support the pastoral care, wellbeing, and educational outcomes of First Nations students across campus communities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, families, community organisations, and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate cultural initiatives, including Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week, and other First Nations events and programmes.
- Support the implementation of First Nations perspectives across curriculum and school programmes.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, policies, and practices that strengthen cultural responsiveness and student engagement.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, communities, and perspectives.
- Experience supporting the wellbeing and educational outcomes of young people.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Well-developed organisational and administrative capabilities.
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
- Full Australian work rights.
- Two referees and completion of HARKE safeguarding onboarding requirements.
