THE ROLE:

This is a hands-on HGV Mechanic role focused on servicing, maintenance and repair work across a fleet of commercial vehicles. The position is predominantly workshop-based, with optional field service work available through the on-call rota.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on trucks and vans
  • Diagnose faults and complete mechanical repairs
  • Conduct inspections and vehicle health checks
  • Carry out breakdown diagnostics and corrective repairs
  • Ensure vehicles meet roadworthiness and safety standards
  • Complete service documentation and maintenance records
  • Support workshop operations and fleet availability targets
  • Participate in the on-call rota if desired, with field-based service work available


THE PERSON:

This role is ideal for a qualified HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Plant Fitter. Candidates from automotive backgrounds will also be considered, particularly if they have strong diagnostic and maintenance experience.

  • Qualified HGV Mechanic, Plant Fitter or Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Experience servicing and repairing trucks, vans or heavy equipment
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Good understanding of vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures
  • Plant fitters looking to move into commercial vehicles will be considered
  • Car mechanics with relevant experience may also be considered
  • Full driving licence preferred

LOCATION:
