The Job…..
This is a 7 month fixed term contract ideally starting mid October. You will step into an established Financial Crimes Analyst role and act as the dedicated compliance partner for the Australian Sales team, providing real time advice and resolving onboarding roadblocks during local business hours.

Key responsibilities include:

• Investigating customers using internal systems and open source intelligence to identify potential financial crime risks
• Carrying out Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and reviewing activity to spot and assess suspicious transactions
• Supporting the MLRO with the design, implementation and oversight of the AML framework across multiple jurisdictions
• Acting as a go to person for advice on AML, Sanctions and Anti Bribery and Corruption topics
• Ensuring accurate record keeping and making required filings, including suspicious activity reports
• Proactively reviewing existing processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies and smarter risk mitigation controls
• Drafting and updating customer contracts, working closely with Sales and Legal on any special terms or conditions

You…..

• 2 years' experience in AML, Financial Crime or a related compliance role
• Strong understanding of AML and financial crime regulations (fintech experience highly regarded)
• Experience liaising with stakeholders across the APAC region to support client onboarding and uplift, with strong Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Ongoing Customer Due Diligence (OCDD) skills
• A track record championing change management and process improvement projects, ideally including remediation projects that bring existing clients into line with evolving KYC and AML requirements across multiple jurisdictions
• A self starter, comfortable owning decisions and working with autonomy, including outside standard Sydney hours when needed
• Used to working with shifting priorities and urgency across a global team spanning different time zones, managing expectations according to capacity
• A clear and confident communicator, able to influence and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Commercially astute, balancing risk with growth and operational pace
• Motivated, well organised and adaptable in a dynamic, fast evolving setting
