Position Summary

The Interior Sensing Systems Architect is responsible for the requirements elicitation, and for the proposal of architecture at the vehicle system level, aiming at acquiring new customers.

The Systems Architect contributes to the definition of a Core architecture for Driver&In-Cabin Monitoring Systems and has the responsibility to develop a concept for Application projects.

This position requires interfacing with cross functional, global and regional Core development teams located in North America and Europe, as well as customers and technology partners.

Working in the Core team, the Systems Architect will be given the opportunity to make significant contributions to the creation and implementation of new active safety products.

Specific Duties

Define and design system architecture in accordance with and external standards.

Evaluate system architectures for L1-L4 systems based on market trends and input of Interior Sensing Core.

Establish and tailor architectural workflow together with other Cores (Night Vision, Radar, RCS) and external partners.

Management of architectural models and their relation to corresponding requirements using dedicated engineering tools (model-based and document-based).

Support in process definition and rollouts for ADAS systems and associated tools.

Gather and analyze in the RFI/RFQ process the requirements and define the corresponding systems architecture.

Break down application development into work packages and estimate related effort.

Review planning for pre-development or application development with the Project Manager.

Contribute to the product roadmap definition in coordination with its owner.

Establish contacts with carmakers Advanced Engineering and Development divisions.

Support customer/investor demonstrations of  Technology, regional and international.

Solicit customer input on existing architecture & future needs, feedback to Core development and Product Planning.

Join benchmark activities, maintain technical knowledge by staying up-to-date with 
Other duties related to product development or support as assigned by the Regional Engineering Manager.

Travel, including international, to meet with global counterparts and customer required.

 

Requirements

Experience

Desired Background: Automotive design or Model based software development for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Experience with ADAS, camera, radar, brake control, engine/powertrain control, and steering controls.

Previous involvement in System definition, Application engineering, and Customer interaction.

Advanced experience with requirement analysis and reviews.

Good understanding of systems architecture workflow and its relation to requirements management.

Proficient in System modelling with Enterprise Architect.

Solid understanding of automotive bus technologies and trends (Automotive Ethernet, CAN, Flexray …).

Good understanding of ISO26262, SOTIF challenges and cybersecurity standards.

General understanding of ISO21434, AUTOSAR and embedded SW development process.

General knowledge of PTC, JIRA, Human-Machine Interface, vehicle cockpit module, steering/braking actuators.

Use of Rhapsody beneficial.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science required, Master’s degree preferred.

Communication And Interpersonal Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills towards internal and external audiences including customer and leadership.

Analytical ability, experience in writing clear requirements and presenting technical information to non-/specialists.

Problem solving skills independent judgment, hands-on attitude, attention to detail, adaptability.

Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary multiple-site team, with minimal remote supervision.

Good level of English language required (TOEIC>700). Business level of Japanese language beneficial.
