System Team Leader (Sensors)

Mission

• Responsible for monitoring and supervising a System team (System Technical Product Manager, Requirements Manager, Function Owners, Application Engineer, System Architect, Ticket Manager) to achieve customer and internal project objectives.
• Responsible for providing guidance, instruction, training, and leadership skills to inspire the team to perform at their optimum.
• Responsible to create a cohesive team that works efficiently together to provide project deliverables and customer QCD targets.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management

• Lead the multicultural System team of 5-10 persons in Tokyo
• Motivate the team to achieve technical, schedule, quality and budget objectives 
• Delegate tasks (work packages) to team members
• Empower team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills
• Conduct the bi-annual performance reviews of the System Team members
• Contribute to the growth of the company through a successful team
• Create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team
• Guide team members for issue analysis

Project Management and Technical

• Ensure alignment between the customer and offices overseas on a System level and with other development teams (SW, Mechatronic, System Validation)
• Develop and implement timelines to achieve project targets on System side
• Contribute to the identification of the needs in terms of resources, equipment, investments
• Enable the team to apply ASPICE assessment
• Make sure that the System team members are following internal processes and rules accurately

Reporting

• Daily reports to R&D Ops Manager of all System team contributors
• Escalate to R&D Ops Manager when needed

Requirements

• Degree/MSEE BSEE in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automotive Technology, Mechatronics or Equivalent
• Ideally experience in Automotive development, driving assistance systems or Embedded Systems
• Experience in R&D development activities
• 3 to 7 years of experience as Team Leader
• Fluent Japanese (Speaking, reading, writing - without using translators (excluding difficult kanji)
• Speak English as additional language to be able to make daily and weekly reports and communicate with all overseas sites
