We are partnering with a leading enterprise organisation to engage an experienced Data Governance Consultant. This role will suit a collaborative governance professional who can translate data-management principles into practical frameworks, controls and business processes.

About the Role You will support the development and implementation of enterprise data-governance practices, working closely with business owners, data stewards, technology teams and senior stakeholders.

The role will focus on strengthening data ownership, quality, compliance and transparency across the organisation while embedding sustainable governance practices into day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data-governance frameworks, policies, standards and procedures.
• Establish clear data ownership and stewardship responsibilities across business domains.
• Facilitate governance workshops, forums and stakeholder discussions.
• Support business glossary, metadata, data lineage and data-classification initiatives.
• Define and monitor data-quality controls, measures and remediation activities.
• Assess existing governance practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop governance artefacts, process documentation and reporting.
• Support compliance with privacy, security and regulatory obligations.
• Work with business and technical teams to embed governance requirements into projects and operational processes.
• Promote data-governance awareness and adoption across the organisation.

Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong experience delivering data-governance or enterprise data-management initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience developing governance frameworks, policies, standards and operating models.
• Strong knowledge of data ownership, stewardship, metadata, lineage, classification and data quality.
• Experience facilitating workshops and engaging senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Ability to translate governance principles into clear, practical business processes.
• Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Experience working within complex enterprise or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of privacy, security, risk and compliance considerations relating to enterprise data.
