Electrical Engineer – Building Services

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 + Super

The Opportunity An established and growing building services contractor is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their Melbourne team, based in Fairfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a Building Services / Electrical Design background to work across a diverse portfolio of projects, including Defence, commercial and critical infrastructure environments.
You’ll be involved in the design and delivery of electrical building services solutions from concept through to construction, working closely with clients, project teams, consultants and other engineering disciplines.

The Role Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and delivering electrical building services designs across commercial, Defence and critical projects.
• Producing electrical schematics, layouts, single-line diagrams, specifications and associated engineering documentation.
• Undertaking electrical calculations, load assessments and equipment selections.
• Coordinating electrical designs with mechanical, hydraulic, fire and other building services disciplines.
• Working closely with project managers, designers, BIM teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure designs are practical and constructible.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation to ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements.
• Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including construction and commissioning.
• Contributing to design reviews, value engineering and continuous improvement of engineering processes.

About You You’ll ideally have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in electrical building services design within Australia.
• Experience working on projects within one or more of Defence, commercial, industrial, data centre or other critical environments.
• Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and building services requirements.
• Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project and design teams.
• A practical approach to engineering, with an understanding of how designs translate into construction.
