HSE Advisor - FIFO - 2:1

Our client is a well-established contractor with a strong presence across the WA resources and civil construction sector. With ongoing work and a long-term project secured, they are looking to add an experienced HSE Advisor to the existing site team.

This is a FIFO position working on a 2:1 roster, supporting a long-term civil construction project. The initial contract will be 4 - 6 months, with the potential for extension and ongoing work for the right person.

You will be working closely with the Site Management team, Supervisors, subcontractors and wider workforce, providing hands-on HSE support across the project and ensuring a high standard of safety, compliance and risk management is maintained.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with site teams and having a genuine impact on safety performance.

About You:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working on Rio Tinto sites
• Fully compliant with current Rio Tinto training requirements
• Previous HSE Advisor experience within civil construction
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and safety systems
• Hands-on approach and comfortable working in a site-based environment
• Confident communicating with workers, supervisors, subcontractors and management
• Strong understanding of JHAs, SWMS, risk assessments and incident management
• Able to work autonomously while also being part of a wider site team
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Available to work a 2:1 FIFO roster
• Looking for a long-term opportunity with a reputable contractor

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing day-to-day HSE support across civil construction activities
• Working closely with Site Management and Supervisors to ensure safe delivery of works
• Conducting regular site inspections, audits and safety observations
• Supporting the development and review of JHAs, SWMS and risk assessments
• Identifying hazards and working with site teams to implement effective controls
• Supporting incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions through to close-out
• Conducting and supporting pre-starts, toolbox meetings and safety communications
• Monitoring compliance with HSE systems, procedures and client requirements
• Maintaining HSE documentation, records and reporting
• Supporting site inductions and onboarding requirements
• Providing practical safety advice, coaching and guidance to workers and supervisors
• Promoting a positive and proactive safety culture across the project
• Ensuring project activities are completed in line with required HSE standards and procedures

You will be joining an established project team with experienced leadership around you, working on a long-term civil construction project with the potential for ongoing work beyond the initial contract.
A competitive hourly rate will be negotiated based on your experience and suitability for the role.
