Principal Advisor, Digital Services (ISMS & Cyber Security Specialist)

Kingston Human Capital are supporting a Queensland State Government Department with the appointment of a Principal Advisor focused on ISMS implementation and uplift.

You will join the Digital Services team who works closely with internal stakeholders, central agencies, external statutory authorities and portfolio partners to:

• Lead the Department’s digital strategy to advance agency and whole of government priorities
• Establish and assure ICT governance, compliance and assurance frameworks that ensure the security, resilience and quality of the Department’s ICT portfolio
• Drive digital maturity and capability uplift across the agency including leveraging emerging technologies to improve productivity and business outcomes

What you will be doing
You will join a dynamic team environment focused on digital services and ICT governance, compliance, and assurance frameworks within the ICT portfolio.
  
In this role you will:

• Provide leadership, expert and timely analysis, advice and recommendations in relation to Information Security Management System (ISMS), standards, governance and process improvement.
• Lead and manage the successful delivery of the ISMS program of work, ensuring the adoption of and compliance with the Queensland Government Information Security Policy (IS18:2018), and work with key stakeholders to operationalise ISMS best practice.
• Be a role model for compliance with the Department’s obligations and adherence to overall strategy.
• Ensure all ISMS audit recommendations are managed, risk assessed and escalated via the Department’s Risk Management Framework and governance pathways.
• Develop and identify methodologies and frameworks for capturing new innovative business opportunities through analysing and assessing business related data and digital trends.
• Manage incident investigations and review and assess information management controls to ensure identified risks are managed appropriately and the ongoing effectiveness of standards and control mechanisms is maintained.

About you
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate;

• Extensive expertise in implementing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), including standards, governance, process improvement
• Strong background in cyber security such as Essential 8 and managing internal and external audits
• Experience driving improvements in information security practices

Highly desirable additional experience

• PRINCE2 certification
• Qualifications or experience in Agile
• Experience in Information Management with a working knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks.
• Queensland Government experience

What this role offers you

• $88.29 - $94.59 per Hour plus Superannuation, commensurate with experience
• Immediate start
• 6-month initial assignment, with possibility of extension
• Brisbane CBD office, very close to public transport
• Full time hours, Monday to Friday
