AI Engineer

A well-known organisation in the financial services & insurance space is seeking a hands-on AI Engineer. You be joining a small, well-credentialed AI team that's already shipping generative AI and applied ML into real business problems across their business units and customers.

The Role

• Design and build AI-driven features and services, from predictive models to generative AI applications
• Develop and operationalise solutions using large language models, including prompt engineering, orchestration and evaluation
• Build AI-enabled APIs and services that plug into customer-facing and internal systems
• Apply techniques such as NLP, classification, recommendation and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Embed explainability, human-in-the-loop controls and responsible AI practices into everything you build
• Work closely with data scientists, ML engineers and business stakeholders to turn use cases into production-grade AI capability

What You'll Bring
Must-haves:

• Strong programming skills in Python, Java or TypeScript
• 3+ years across software engineering, AI engineering or applied machine learning
• Practical experience with APIs, microservices and cloud-native architecture
• Hands-on work with LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic or open-source models
• Solid grasp of prompt engineering, RAG architectures and evaluation techniques
• A good understanding of data privacy, compliance and responsible AI

Nice to haves:

• Experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated environment
• Understanding of the end-to-end ML lifecycle (training, deployment, monitoring)
