AI Delivery Lead

AI is moving fast inside this business, and it needs someone who can turn momentum into delivery. This is a newly created leadership role at a well-known New Zealand financial services organisation that has spent the last six months building out a genuinely capable AI function, and now needs a driven delivery lead to coordinate the demand pouring in from customer, pricing and claims teams and turn it into shipped, scaled solutions. 

You will not be writing code. You will be the person who keeps discovery honest, keeps delivery moving, and keeps the business bought in. 

The Role 

• Coordinate and drive multiple concurrent complex AI delivery streams
• Run discovery on new AI use cases and translate business demand into a prioritised, resourced delivery plan 
• Take AI solutions from concept and prototype through to production and scaled operational use 
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams spanning engineering, architecture, data, risk, security, testing and change 
• Manage vendor and consultancy relationships, holding them accountable for delivery and commercial outcomes 
• Build business cases and track benefits realisation in partnership with Finance and business owners 
• Engage confidently with senior stakeholders
• Manage capacity, prioritisation and trade offs across a growing pipeline of demand 

What You'll Bring 
Must haves: 

• 8+ years leading complex digital, data, technology, product or transformation delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams 
• A track record of taking emerging technology, data or AI solutions from concept through to production and scaled use 
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary delivery teams 
• Experience managing strategic vendors, consultancies or system integration partners 
• Experience building business cases and reporting on measurable benefits 
• Strong stakeholder management skills at senior and executive level 
• A genuine sense of ownership, urgency and drive. This role needs someone who pushes things through, not someone who waits to be asked 

Nice to haves: 

• Experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated, operationally complex environment 
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure tools such as Copilot, Copilot Studio or Azure AI Foundry 
• A consulting background, particularly one involving business facing delivery
