Apply directFRS Recruitment are currently working with a highly successful and growing Main Civil Engineering Contractor who are looking to add an experienced Bid Writer to their team in Co. Galway.
The company has a strong portfolio of large-scale Civil Engineering and Infrastructure projects across Ireland, with an excellent pipeline of work ahead.
Based from the Galway office, you will play a key role within the tendering and pre-construction process, coordinating information across estimating, commercial, design and operational teams to produce high-quality tender submissions.
The position will involve managing PQQs, tender documentation and submission deadlines, while developing clear and compelling responses tailored to individual project requirements and scoring criteria.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bid Writer looking to join a growing contractor, gain exposure to major infrastructure tenders and develop their career further within a strong pre-construction environment. There may also be an opportunity for hybrid working following successful completion of probation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and coordinate PQQs, tenders and bid submissions.
- Develop clear responses tailored to individual tender requirements.
- Coordinate information across estimating, commercial and design teams.
- Manage bid programmes, deadlines and submission documentation requirements.
- Review tender documentation and identify additional information requirements.
- Ensure submissions address client criteria and scoring requirements.
- Produce professionally formatted tender and supporting documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of bid processes and submission quality.
Requirements
- Ideally three years' bid writing or similar experience in the Ireland/UK Construction Industry.
- Construction or engineering sector experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong written English and technical document preparation capabilities.
- Excellent organisation and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and document formatting skills.
- Microsoft Project and tender programme experience highly advantageous.
- Civil, Structural or MEICA knowledge would be advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
- €55,000–€65,000 salary depending on experience.
